Under the provisions of CFR49, Part 382, any person/driver who operates commercial vehicles or transports passengers in inter or intrastate commerce are subject to Controlled Substance and Alcohol Use and abuse testing. It is mandatory drivers whom operate equipment over the capacity of 15 passengers and/or equipment over 26,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight, or are involved in transporting hazardous materials be tested on a regular basis for illegal drugs and alcohol abuse /use.
